I find myself trying to explain to new girls on the phone, who are interested in trying pole dance classes for the first time, why either going barefoot or wearing the special pole dancing heels, otherwise known as stripper heels, is best. I will get asked if they can bring jazz shoes or other types of shoes and I tell them no and the reasons behind it.

All sports have their own special attire and shoes, this article by Poleexercise does an excellent job explaining the reasons for wearing the special dancer shoes.

Miss US Pole Dance 2009: Jenyne Butterfly

I attended the US Pole Dance Championship in NYC this past weekend and our friend and teacher, Jenyne Butterfly, won the competition, Yay! Her performance was absolutely amazing and beautiful!!

The next performance is by Alethea who I had the opportunity to meet at LA's Be Spun a few months ago. There was no doubt in my mind that she would be in the top 3. (Her youtube videos are addicting:)
