Beware of the fake X-Pole sold on Ebay and Craigslist

Please be aware that there are fake X-Poles being sold on Ebay and Craigslist for less than $200.00. Be very careful as the quality is not the same and they are unsafe!

They have plastic domes that crack, knife sharp edges on joints that open and close when the pole flexes causing your skin to get caught, chrome that peels off, black rubber on the dome which will leave marks on ceiling, and joints that are not welded so causing the pole to bow dangerously.


The new, authentic X-Poles don't have a wrench. This is an improved design that is more user friendly. The locking nut has a hole in it so you simply use the thicker end of the release rod, put it in the hole, and tighten the nut that way. The nut still has flat sides so if it was overtightened and stuck you could use a personal wrench to loosen it. The DVD and instruction manual come in a large write envelope that is taped to one of the sides of the inner box.

Be cautious when ordering. You can not exchange the fake X-Pole and Vertical Leisure will not be able to replace any faulty parts.

Pole Dancing Owner Wins Settlement Case

The links below feature, Stephanie Babines, owner of Oh My You're Gorgeous, pole dance school, fought and won a settlement; after several months long battle over being able to occupy her studio, by towns officials.

The consensus was that a business that featured pole dancing, was too provocative and was viewed as a "adult oriented business". Knowing better, Ms. Babines hired savvy attorneys who took the case to the American Civil Liberties Union; and won!

It is the rest of us who will gain the benefit of this extremely important case. I celebrate the courage and the effort of Ms. Babines, who took on a lot of heat. I also commend the American Civil Liberties Union on their positive decision, a important one for the US!

Jenyne Butterfly at Empowerment Through Exotic Dance Studio In Chicago

This video of Jenyne Butterfly was shot at Mary Ellyn's studio in Chicago where she hosted a Master pole dance workshop. Her company Empowerment Through Exotic Dance is located in the Chicago area.

For those of you who have attended a workshop at our studio or elsewhere with Jenyne, know how controlled and fluid she is on the pole, not to mention talented. For those of you who have not had the opportunity to attend her classes, this video shows her graceful performance.

Seems like the old China is (reluctantly) having to give away to the new China, which is great, however, I am getting bored with the term "controversial" associated with pole dancing. I can't wait till pole dancing gets past being controversial everywhere and just accepted as a fitness workout.........
